Last Thursday the kids and my husband and I thought it was time for a little getaway. My husband took a vacation day and the five of us took off for Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut. Since we pretty much school year round' with a little break of about 3 weeks in between "years", we just decided when we need a little break. We headed off to Mystic and had a fabulous time! This was the first time the kids had been there, and they were really looking forward to it.

A Tour of Our School Room
One of the things I absolutely love about homeschooling is the ability to transform a room into a beautiful learning environment. Even if you don't have an entire room to dedicate to your homeschooling space, you can make your mark on wherever you learn together!
Since we follow a more Charlotte Mason bent way of learning, we try to keep lots of books and items on nature in our classroom. I'm slowly but surely adding to the collection. We also MUST have many reminders of Jesus, Mary and the Saints and Angels surrounding us daily!
Here are some views of our learning room.
This is a close up of our timeline bulletin board.
This is a view of the other side of the room. My desk and my oldest son's work area.
I am limited on wall space, so I hang cup hooks on my bookshelves and hang bulletin boards from them. It hides the books I'm not currently using, and also provides me with extra hanging space!
My art center is very organized so I can see what needs restocking and where to find what we need.
Also, don't overlook little areas that can be transformed into something else. We turned this closet into the computer center! A small space that was just big enough for what we needed!
I've loved sharing our space with you! Hopefully you can steal some ideas from me if they may work for you.
God Bless!
Liturgical Calendar
After coming across a lovely calendar on another site, I loved the idea of a liturgical calendar; with the saints of the day as the day cards. But, the way that it was set up didn't correspond to the saints we study daily in our book. We are using Saints for Young Readers for Everyday Vol 1 and Vol 2. If you use these books, or are interested in using them, please feel free to download these calendar pieces that I have created to accompany them! I'm just using a calendar pocket chart as the base. I have also made up some saint notebooking pages that match up to the saint of the day. I will update this page each month with the new cards and notebooking pages until it is completed.
God Bless!
Easter Cake!
I never got around to showing you all the cake I made for Easter. I saw the idea on Pinterest and thought it was the cutest thing. My kids loved it too!

Our Feast Shelf.....Holy Week
Just wanted to share with you the changes we've made to our feast shelf for Passion Week. We've changed out the colors to red, made a paper crown of thorns and wrapped the candle in a blood red cloth. We may make 14 crosses with the stations on them if time permits. We love sharing our shelf with you all!
God Bless,
