I'd like to share with you some wonderful books that you may not have otherwise heard of. They are wonderful books for nature study and I found them quite by accident at a used book sale at the local library. Birds at Home is the first find that is simply beautiful. What a wonderful BIG book filled with information and gorgeous illustrations of colorful, beautiful birds!
The next book that was a gem to find, was The Golden Almanac, by Dorothy Agnes Bennett. This book is going to be so much fun to use with the kids and we're about to start with it this coming week! I'm so excited to put much of the activities inside to use. It's filled with anecdotes dealing with the seasons, hints and tips, and all sorts of useful information regarding anything a child would wonder about the year.
I'm so happy to be able to share these special finds with you. I wouldn't want any of you to miss out on such great books.

We bought the neatest book on vacation last year. We got it as a gift for the people taking care of our bunny. :o) It was a bird book. It had the birds from the Western US and then had a button and speaker. You could hear all the calls that bird makes. I wanted to buy one for our family, too! LOL But did not have the money.
That sounds so great! My kids would love that! :)
They actually have a website where you can listen to all of the different bird songs and calls. I'm going to have to try and remember what it was.
What a wonderful find!! Our library book sale didn't have anything good like that. I weeded through a lot of junk, but didn't find any gems. Maybe next year!
Yes Cassie, normally I find a few good things here and there. Nothing like what I found that day though. It was wonderful. Good luck headed your way that you find some treasures!
